Wait or build now?
Puchheim is revising its PV grant and names neither new amounts nor a date. Here is what each month without a system costs, measured against the last amounts. They are only a yardstick, not a promise.
The typical house in Puchheim: 14.7 kWp (30 modules), about 13,000 kWh of power a year, for a household using 4,500 kWh. The basis is our run of the solar roof check over 386 family houses of the town.
The loss exceeds the old grant after
12 months
After 12 months of waiting you have lost more than the old grant paid: power worth €1,465 against €1,455.
power lost
The old grant, for comparison
Under the guideline of 15 Apr 2025, which does not apply at the moment: roof €150 per kWp above 5 kWp, at most €1,500 (€1,455 for this house); battery €75 per kWh with the PV system (€35 retrofitted), only the part above 5 kWh, at most €750, at most 1 kWh per kWp (€375 at 10 kWh).
What follows
- The guideline wants the application before the order. While the town accepts no applications, nobody can file one. Anyone who builds now counts without a grant from the town.
- The new rules may pay more, less or nothing at all. The town says nothing about it; the calculation above therefore uses the old amounts only as a yardstick.
- Not counted: what the system costs. Whoever pays later keeps the money longer. Interest and later prices are missing too.
- Not counted: a system that starts after 31 Dec 2026 falls under different feed-in rules according to the draft EEG 2027.
How we calculated
- Power price 32.44 ct/kWh, as in the solar roof check (SWM München basic supply, gross). Your tariff in Puchheim may differ.
- Feed-in 7.37 ct/kWh: the Bundesnetzagentur rate for systems in operation by 31 Dec 2026 (7.70 ct up to 10 kWp, 6.66 ct above, pro rata).
- Own use from our run with the DWD’s weather data: 45 % of the consumption without, 88 % with a 10 kWh battery.
- The months follow PVGIS’s yield curve for Puchheim; the value is smaller in winter than in summer, which is why the start month matters.

How it worked so far in Puchheim
Plug-in solar: you may apply after buying.
- Written application (form) with a quote, before you place the order
- Rooftop PV and battery: cover the roof fully to a technically sensible extent; 15 kWp or more counts as full
- Plug-in solar: you may also apply up to 14 days after buying or ordering
- Finish the work and hand in the final documents (payout request, invoice, proof of payment) within one year of approval; in justified cases an extension of six months can be requested
- Run the system for at least eight years; federal or state grants come first, no double funding

What fits on the roofs in Puchheim
Our solar roof check run over 386 of the roughly 4,200 detached, two-family, semi-detached and terraced houses in Puchheim, with dormers, chimneys and the shade of neighbouring houses and trees.
- modules on a typical house
- 30 half of the houses: 28 to 48
- electricity a year
- 13,000 kWh with 14.7 kWp
- output lost to shade
- 0.1 % from trees and neighbouring houses
A typical house in Puchheim takes 30 modules; the middle value across the 24 towns around Munich with a page of their own is 33.
This counts the house alone. For 23 % of the houses a garage or annex can be planned too: 7 more modules in the middle.
Where the roofs face

- east or west 44 %
- north or flat 31 %
With a home battery
With 4,500 kWh used a year, a typical house in Puchheim covers about 45 % of it from the panels alone. A battery raises the part from your own roof:
With a 10 kWh battery the house would have needed no power from the grid on 248 days in 2025.
Your own roof in the solar roof check → Estimate from the 3D building model (LoD2, Bavarian Surveying Administration, CC BY 4.0), output per direction from PVGIS; battery figures with the roof faces of a house from the middle of the town and German Weather Service measurements for 2025. Is there a grant for solar PV in Puchheim?
Under the guideline: €150 per kWp from the 6th kWp, at most €1,500; the roof must be fully covered (15 kWp or more counts as full); facade PV: €300 per kWp, at most €2,500. Currently: suspended (as of 3 November 2026).
Does Puchheim fund home batteries (battery storage)?
Under the guideline: €75 per kWh installed with the PV system, €35 per kWh retrofitted, at most €750; only the part above 5 kWh counts, at most 1 kWh per kWp; the roof must be fully covered. Currently: suspended (as of 3 November 2026).
Does Puchheim fund plug-in solar?
Under the guideline: €50 per flat, flat rate. Currently: suspended (as of 3 November 2026).

How many solar modules fit on a house in Puchheim?
The middle value is 30 modules with 14.7 kWp, making around 13,000 kWh a year; half of the houses take 28 to 48 modules. With a 10 kWh battery and 4,500 kWh used a year, about 88 % of the power comes from your own roof. Worked out over 386 houses in Puchheim.
What is there besides the municipality?
Everywhere in Germany: the KfW loan 270 for system and battery through your bank, and 0 % VAT on panels, inverters and batteries up to 30 kWp. The Free State of Bavaria pays no grant. Federal or state grants come first; the guideline rules out double funding.
