What does your municipality pay?
Pullach adds €300 per kWp, Munich no longer pays anything for rooftop systems. The federal government and Bavaria give no grants. Enter your postcode to see whether your municipality pays and how to apply.
Available everywhere
KfW loan 270for the system and the battery, through your bank
0 % VATon panels, inverters and batteries up to 30 kWp
No guarantee; the municipality's guideline is what counts.
Who pays?
- Federal government Loan
The state bank KfW lends you the money through your own bank (programme 270). Up to 30 kWp you pay no VAT, and the income from the system is tax-free.
KfW, programme sheet 270 · VAT Act, § 12 (3) · Income Tax Act, § 3 no. 72
- State of Bavaria Nothing
The last programme, the 10,000-homes programme, ended in 2022.
- Your municipality Grant
Many municipalities in the district of Munich add something. Each has its own rules, and once the year's money is gone, it is gone.
Apply first, then order
Almost every municipality only pays if your application arrives before you sign with the installer. After that there are three variants:
- Apply, then go ahead As soon as you have applied, you may place the order.
- Apply, then wait for approval You sign only once the decision has arrived.
- Build first, then apply You apply after the system is running, within a deadline.
What the municipalities pay
As of 28 October 2026, no guarantee: the municipality's guideline is what counts. "Older version" means it is from 2023 or 2024, "Details open" means not everything is online, "Budget used up" means this year's money has run out. A quick call to the town hall helps.
