MCP server for AI assistants

Let your AI assistant plan your roof.

Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and other assistants use our Dachcheck (roof check) themselves. You give your address, the assistant plans the modules, asks what it does not know, and gives you the plan as a 3D link and a PDF. Free, no login.

Address for your assistant https://pv.skysolar.de/mcp/

Your assistant answers in English. The plan links and the PDF it makes are in German; the roof check page is in English too.

How to connect it

Claude
Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, paste the address. In the browser, the desktop app and on your phone.
ChatGPT
In the browser: chatgpt.com/plugins → “+” → “Add custom MCP server”. Paste the address, choose “No authentication”, “Create as a plugin” and install the plugin. Call it in a chat with @.
Grok
In the browser: grok.com/connectors → “New Connector” → “Custom”, paste the address.
Claude Code
In the terminal: claude mcp add --transport http sky-solar https://pv.skysolar.de/mcp/
Codex
In the terminal: codex mcp add sky-solar --url https://pv.skysolar.de/mcp/
OpenClaw
In the terminal: openclaw mcp add sky-solar --url https://pv.skysolar.de/mcp/ --transport streamable-http
Hermes Agent
In the file ~/.hermes/config.yaml:
mcp_servers:
  sky-solar:
    url: "https://pv.skysolar.de/mcp/"
Other assistants
Add an MCP server (Streamable HTTP) with the address above. No login, no key. As a config file:
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "sky-solar": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://pv.skysolar.de/mcp/"
    }
  }
}

What you can ask

  • “Plan a solar system on my house: [your address].”
  • “Here is the building plan as a photo. Are the roof tilt and the overhang right?”
  • “The chimney is in the middle of the south side, and the fir in the garden is gone.”
  • “Is a battery worth it with 4,500 kWh of electricity a year?”
  • “Lay the modules in tidy rows and send me the plan as a PDF.”

What it can do

Everything you can do on the Dachcheck page:

  • Find your house within about 50 km of Munich and Rott am Inn, from the official 3D building model.
  • Plan modules on the real roof faces, around chimneys, roof windows and dormers, with the shade of neighbouring houses and, where we have the laser scan, of trees.
  • Work out the yield with the German Weather Service’s weather since January 2025, month by month, with and without a battery, with your municipality’s subsidy.
  • Improve the plan from your building plan, your photos and your answers: tilt, dormers, trees, roof covering, colours, module layout.
  • Give you the plan as a link that opens it in 3D, as the PDF report the page prints, and as a DXF drawing for CAD.

What it cannot do

  • It sends no enquiry and books no appointment. You do that yourself, with the form or by phone.
  • It gives no prices. The plan is an example, not a quote; we measure the roof on site.
  • It stores nothing. Your plan lives only in the link.

Your data

Your assistant sends the address to our server, which finds the house and does the sums. We do not store it or pass it on. What you tell your assistant is also seen by its provider, under their rules. More in our privacy policy.

For developers

Rather do it yourself?

The Dachcheck also works without an assistant, in your browser.
